18 months

Phew! Where has the time gone!? I've been dragging on my picture taking ever since Christmas, but thought I would try to make up for some lost time. Let's see, we all had a fabulous holiday season with only a few minor runny noses overall...except poor Joe who also got the double ear infections (see first photo below). He was pretty crabby, but we all did our best to make every day fun and enjoyable. After the holidays passed it was back to business as usual around here. The kids had some new things to play with, and while the twins like all of their gifts they are unfortunately drawn to Maggie's dollhouse (much to her dismay). Joe will be so sad I ratted him out. I guess it's the little pieces and the constant temptation to either take off with pieces and hide them OR to simply knock over the displays Maggie creates which then creates a sort of World War 3 over here.
The twins had their 18 month check up last week--they are all on the charts and growing well. Delaney is still on the small side in her weight (21 lbs), but continues to make the 10th percentile and we're ok with that. Joe is pretty much 50% across the board (26.6 lbs) except 95% in height (who knows where that came from!). After they each received shots I tried my hardest to comfort them with certain items I had brought--for Joe, a pacifier and for Delaney her blankie--little did I know that what annoyed Delaney most was not the needle, but the fact that they made her remove her shoes for the check up. As soon as her shots were over she quickly dismissed the blankie, pacifier, juice cup and crackers I tried to console her with and shouted at the nurse, "SHOES!"  Those of you that know Delaney will not be shocked by this--when she wakes up in the morning the first thing she asks to do is put her shoes on--I guess she's got places to go.
What else...it's been unseasonably warm here (in the 80's) and while it kind of annoys me that I cannot break out more of my winter sweaters, I can't really complain because it's great to take the kids outside everyday and not have to bundle them up.
And last but not least: Maggie. Miss Maggie is very excited that we've just signed her up for a pre-tap and ballet class down at the community center. It starts next Monday and she tells EVERYONE she meets all about it. Stay tuned for updates for what I am sure will be the beginning of her illustrious career as a ballerina.

Down & out with ear infections
Ever since we signed up for ballet she's been doing an exorbitant amount of twirling

Gearing up for a walk around the block
Delaney & her shoes--these are her favorite (heaven help us when she outgrows them).

An important part of the ballet dancer’s equipment is the Ballet shoes , while the shoes are beautiful they are essential and important in the ballet dance. The ballet shoes are designed to be pleasing to the audience and mostly they are designed to function for the dancers.

Oh, there goes "dance" again.
